Anyone who has seen the 1988 blockbuster film 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit` probably had many nightmares after watching the final scene, where the main antagonist (Judge Doom) is revealed to be the psychopathic toon that killed Eddy Valiant`s brother, Teddy. While many people believe that Judge Doom is just a mysterious toon whom we will never know the identity of, an easter egg that comes earlier in the film may determine the Judge`s true identiy.
When Eddie Valiant interrogates R.K Maroon after he sees a news report that he had made a deal with Cloverleaf Industries, numerous posters are visible, one advertising a cartoon called 'Pistol Packin' Possum'. Upon studying the poster, you can identify the possums brown (almost red) eyes, which are exactly what Judge Doom has at the end of the movie. Another thing that you see is the actual pistol that Pistol Packin' Possum is holding. It is identical to the one Judge Doom uses in that same scene to kill R.K Maroon, and before he does shoot R.K Maroon, the reflection of Judge Doom holding the gun is reflecting off the Pistol Packin' Possum poster. Almost identically.
In the comic book spinoff of 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' that was released a few years later (The Resurrection of Doom) it is revealed that Judge Doom was a toon called Baron Von Rotten A.K.A the toon of a thousand faces. He is said to have been able to morph into anything he desired (including when he transformed his hand into an anvil and a buzz saw at the end of the movie.) . This means that he could`ve morphed into the Pistol Packin' Possum to star in that cartoon.
All throughout 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' there were many clues that people missed that all pointed to Judge Doom`s true identity, and for so many years everyone thought they would never know. But now we finally know. Too bad Eddie never found out.
