Mufasa Caused the Drought[]
Disney films are known for using plenty of supernatural elements. This theory points out a big one in the 1994 film, The Lion King.
According to this theory, Mufasa became a restless spirit after he was murdered by his younger brother. Instead of going to live with the great kings of the past, Mufasa instead used the drought to punish Scar for his betrayal, and this also caused Nala to broaden her search for food, thus leading her to Simba. However, Simba wanted to stay with Timon and Pumbaa, so this forces Mufasa to appoint his loyal servant, Rafiki. Rafiki shows Simba his father's reflection in a pool of water, and Mufasa himself then appears to him in the clouds. It should also be noted that this isn't usually how the late kings of the past revealed themselves, according to Rafiki, so this may add more leverage to the theory. Once Scar is overthrown and killed, the rain returns to the Pride Lands, thus implying that Mufasa is now at peace.
The Lion King is Related to British Imperialism[]
The film The Lion King is about the British colonization of Africa. Scar and his hyenas are British imperialists and the other characters are African natives.
Timon and Pumbaa are African natives who had everything taken from them by the British, so they were forced to live in the jungle.
Zazu is a missionary, which explains why he is strict and disliked.
The song “Be Prepared” represents the British preparing to colonize Africa.
Scar causing a drought and famine represents the British taking wealth out of Africa.
Simba’s defeat of Scar represents the fall of the British Empire.
Scar has a British Accent
Ma’s name is “Janice”, just like the mom from Boss Baby.[]
There’s an eerie resemblance to an episode of Boss Baby to the Lion King 1 1/2, such as:
Timothy Leslie Templeton is called “Timmy”, just like Timon
both “Timmy”s have an uncle max.
Both uncle max’s were mangled by an animal (Boss Baby = Bobcat/Lion King = Hyena)
Both are on the Mom side of the family
Simba and Nala are half-siblings[]
In the animal kingdom, the lions have a pride made up of one male being king of the pride and only one male cub. The rest of the pride is made up of females for mating. In their Pride, the only males are Simba, Mufasa, and Scar. It is very clear, however, that Scar is not Nala's father and therefore Simba and Nala could only be sharing the same father. A male cub's job in the pride is to be successor by either overthrowing the king of the pride and being banished to start their own or take over another pride. Being a wholesome Disney movie, they decide to skip that violent implication for a story of betrayal of a brother and vengeance by the son aka Disney's version of Hamlet.
